Personal

I am a PhD student in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Boğaziçi University, and a member of Boğaziçi University Signal and Image Processing Laboratory, Speech Processing Group. I am working on speaker recognition and audio segmentation under the supervision of Murat Saraçlar. I have received my M.Sc. degree in 2009 and my B.S. degree from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Istanbul Technical University, in 2006.

Currently I am working on segmentation of broadcast news, which involves speech/music discrimination, speaker turn detection and speaker clustering. My master's research focuses on developing a robust speaker verification system for mobile and multimodal authentication applications. My other research interests include sliding text recognition (Video OCR), sign language recognition, music information retrieval.
